Web Factory: Redesigning the Mutélios website

Achievements

March 25, 2025

The Mutélios Communication & Digital team has just launched its new website www.mutelios.com, supported by Sully Group's UX/UI, Web Factory and outsourcing expertise.

Those involved in the project testify to a successful collaboration of cross-disciplinary skills.

Éléonore, you are the Communications & Digital Director at Mutélios. Could you tell us a little about the mutual?

Mutélios is the result of the merger of two independent, human-scale mutuals, CNM Santé and MFIF, which share the same values of solidarity and mutual aid. This union came about very naturally, as our two mutuals have known each other and worked together within a technical union for a long time. Our area of expertise is supplementary health and provident insurance for individuals and companies.

Why did you redesign your website?

When we merged, we also decided to change our name and graphic universe. Our website, which is our showcase and sales tool, also had to evolve, both graphically of course, but also technically, as we were using an old version of Liferay (7.0), with a “convoluted” user path and a complicated, time-consuming contribution.

Why did you choose Sully for this mission?

We chose Sully as our Liferay expert several years ago to support us on our old site, and it seemed only natural to benefit from their expertise on this upgrade and total transformation of our site.

Jean-Daniel (Sully Group Project Manager), how did we meet the project's challenges?

We set up a cross-skilled team: UX/UI design, Liferay development and Managed IT Services. This team proposed an Agile approach to Mutélios, based on listening, co-construction and adaptability:

  • We began with iterative co-design workshops with Mutélios marketing, our UX/UI designers and our technical experts. These workshops, conducted on the basis of user path and interface mock-ups, enabled us to align ourselves with a shared product vision.
  • We then embarked on the development phase, while maintaining regular exchanges to ensure visibility of progress and validate the implementation of the design.
  • Finally, we supported Mutélios in getting to grips with the contribution interface, which is very intuitive in this new version of Liferay, to ensure good SEO and accessibility performance.

Nicolas (Head of Sully Group's UX/UI offering), how did the design team get involved?

We began by listening to the Mutélios Communications and Marketing team about their needs and vision. We then proposed several hypotheses for content architecture and sales paths, which we refined together.

The designers then proposed a web and mobile adaptation of the new Mutélios visual identity.

Finally, we created mock-ups of the site's screens, again during participatory workshops. In this way, everyone was able to project themselves into the future site, both from a marketing and technical point of view, and to validate that the solutions chosen corresponded to the needs.

Our designers Élisa and Thomas' in-depth knowledge of the Liferay platform enabled them to propose appropriate solutions for both the front and back office.

Romain (Sully Group design engineer), what are the advantages of the Liferay platform?

Liferay is a Digital eXperience Platform (DXP), offering great flexibility in the creation of web services and interfacing with corporate information systems.

In addition, Liferay facilitates contribution thanks to :

  • An intuitive contribution interface, with an in-situ editor (edit in place), enabling direct visualization of the rendering.
  • Customized component libraries, with which contributors can create new, personalized pages within the framework of the graphic and ergonomic charter.
  • A back-office that finely manages administration and contribution rights.

Chrystal (Head of Sully Group's outsourcing offer), what are the hosting challenges for www.mutelio.com?

Our challenges are manifold. Firstly, optimal machine sizing to meet customer needs and requirements as closely as possible. Secondly, our supervision system enables network administrators to intervene 24/7. Finally, we are committed to meeting green IT requirements, via our hosting provider OVH.

How did the project go from the point of view of your teams, Éléonore?

The Communications and Digital Department is made up of a small team of 3 people: Florence GUENET, Digital Communications Manager, Manon QUAGLIOZZI, Digital Marketing Assistant and myself. This change of site was THE project for us, given the importance of the site for the mutual, but also the workload it implied for our team.

Sully was, and still is, well aware of all this. We did everything we could to help our teams as much as possible, and to support them throughout this transformation.

Do you already have feedback on the new version of the site?

The switchover took place on January 27, and I can say today that it has been a success. The www.mutelios.com site is now more popular than the old CNM site was over the same period last year. Our members immediately found their feet, and the teams are enthusiastic about the new graphics and ease of navigation.

All in all, a positive result?

To be honest, this total overhaul of the site, which accounts for over 80% of our prospects' requests for quotes, was a major challenge for the team and myself. However, Sully's support in both the UX/UI phase and the creation of fragments and site architecture was optimal. Everything was done to ensure that our objectives and constraints were understood, and that we could work with total confidence and without stress.
