Sully Group publishes its carbon footprint assessment
October 14, 2025
Sully has published its first carbon footprint assessment, carried out with Greenly, which ranks us in the top 15% of companies evaluated! We meet with Elsa, CSR Manager, to find out more about the background and lessons learned from this initiative.
Hello, Elsa! Sully has just published your very first carbon footprint assessment. Why take this step now?
Hello! Yes, this is a big first for Sully Group. We have been working on this project for several months, and we are delighted to finally be able to share it. The main objective was to measure our environmental impact. Before we could take action, we needed to know where we stood. This assessment is therefore an essential starting point.
What methodology did you use to conduct this assessment?
We chose the methodology proposed by ADEME, which defines the categories and criteria to be taken into account. This enabled us to structure the data collection process in a rigorous manner. We worked with Greenly, our partner selected in January 2025, after reviewing several solutions.
Can you give us some pointers on how the project is progressing?
Of course! Here are the main steps:
- September 2024: launch of the process and meetings with specialized service providers.
- January 2025: selection of Greenly.
- March 2025: start of data collection.
- June 2025: end of fieldwork.
- Summer 2025: publication of the carbon footprint assessment.
We have mobilized several key players at Sully to work on this issue.
We also distributed a questionnaire, which 60% of employees responded to.
This enabled us to collect data on commuting, teleworking habits, and food consumption, which we then incorporated into our emissions calculations.
A big thank you to everyone for their participation!
What are the main lessons to be learned from this assessment?
The assessment covers data from the year 2024. We analyzed monetary data (from our accounting records) and physical data, which we verified thoroughly. 75% of our emissions are calculated using physical data (fuel or electricity consumption, distance traveled in kilometers, quantity of equipment used, volume of waste produced, etc.), which reinforces the reliability of our results.
The two key figures to remember are:
- 2.8 tCO₂e per employee*
- 23 tCO₂e per million euros of revenue
The industry average is 4.8 tCO₂e per employee. It should be noted that this comparison is not necessarily meaningful, as not all digital services companies have the same activities or geographical location.
The main source of emissions is Scope 3, i.e., indirect emissions, particularly those related to travel.
We are pleased with this initial assessment, which places us in the top 15% of companies audited by Greenly!
So what are the next steps?
We will develop our action plan. Some measures already in place at Sully are aligned with reduction principles. We will continue to identify the most relevant actions to reduce our carbon footprint.
Any last words?
This collective effort allows us to make concrete progress toward becoming a more responsible company.
*tCO₂e = tons of carbon dioxide equivalent
This is a unit of measurement used to quantify greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It allows different gases (such as methane, nitrous oxide, etc.) to be grouped together into a single unit by converting them into CO₂ equivalents according to their global warming potential (GWP).
