Sully Group participates in SIG2022
Sully Group has built its GIS (Geographic Information Systems) expertise around numerous application projects.

We are experts in Esri products and have been an official partner since 2017.
As such, we participated in the GIS 2022 exhibition which took place from October 10 to 14, 2022.

Our GeoData team was well represented during this show dedicated to the uses of Geo and Geographic dimension to present our GIS offer.
Our collaborators, Ugo FILLASTRE, Arthur GENET and Ghislain DOYEMET, presented a conference on the technical migration of an ArcGIS Enterprise platform for one of our customers, during the show.

Our collaborator Thibault PETIET, GIS Developer, took up the challenge by participating in "Les Stars de la Géo". It is a game animated by Julien LEPERS to test his geographical and GIS skills in a playful atmosphere.

They agreed to answer some questions to make us relive this event:

What is the SIG show?

The ESRI GIS Exhibition is the annual French-speaking conference for all users and integrators of solutions published by Esri.

What is the purpose of Sully's presence at this show?

This show is an opportunity for Esri France to present the latest products, to highlight the implementation of its products through presentations by its customers and integrators. As such, Sully Group participates in the Esri show in order to share its knowledge within the GIS community. This event is an opportunity to demonstrate our know-how and to discuss with our future customers about their needs in the GIS field. We are ready for the 2023 edition!

Arthur, Ghislain and Ugo, you have animated a demonstration theater, can you tell us more?

Ghislain: "The objective of this presentation (30 min) was to provide feedback on the migration of Esri Enterprise software components (with historical content conservation) as part of a global technical migration for one of our customers. This migration was spread over 10 months and allowed us to consolidate a strong relationship with the customer."

Here are the various components and their migrated version:

  • Redhat 7.2 to Centos 7.9
  • Oracle 1 to c to Oracle 19c
  • Tomcat 8.5 to 9
  • JDK 1.8 to OpenJDK 11
  • ESRI (Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS server 10.5 to 10.8
  • FME server 2017 to 2021

We were able to present the constraints, the objectives and the implementation of this technical migration.
We also highlighted the technical challenges and difficulties encountered. Thus, the people who attended this presentation were able to project themselves into their future migration."

Arthur: "The many questions asked by the participants allowed us to come back to certain choices made during the migration and our experience."

Thibault, how was "Les Stars de la Géo" ?

It was a nice and fun experience. It allows to meet people from the GIS world in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Julien LEPERS is very dynamic and attentive. His presence allows us to get into the atmosphere of a game show.
A little disappointed not to have gone to the final, I am nevertheless proud to have represented Sully in such a competition.
