Conférence technique Drupal

Sully Group, silver partner of DrupalCon Lille from 17 to 20 October 2023.

We were available to discuss and share our Drupal expertise, on booth 26.

Sully wants to become a key player in the Drupal ecosystem

Which is why we've decided to take part in order to talk to the various players and (future) partners.
For our staff, it's also an opportunity to maintain their level of expertise through the various conferences on offer.

A commitment already underway thanks to the Drupal Warm Up Tour. The Drupal France Warm Up Tour is a way of preparing for DrupalCon in Lille, by offering face-to-face meetings! Every month, a Meetup will be held in a different city in France or in a French-speaking country.
In Bordeaux on 29 June, Sully and the AFUP (Association Française des Utilisateurs de #PHP) co-hosted a meetup at ekino in partnership with the Association Drupal France & Francophonie.
Our Drupal experts Joachim Desarmenien and Ines WALLON presented the OpenAI module. You can relive the evening by watching the replay video.

Taking part in the next DrupalCon as a sponsor therefore offers a number of strategic advantages:

  • Increased visibility: DrupalCon is a major international Drupal event. As a sponsor, Sully benefits from considerable exposure to thousands of industry professionals, strengthening your market presence.
  • Networking: This is much more than just an event. It's a unique opportunity to network with Drupal experts, explore new collaborations with potential customers, forge fruitful partnerships and significantly expand our professional network.
  • Positioning as an expert: By sponsoring the event, we demonstrate our commitment to Drupal and reinforce our reputation as an expert in the field. This can attract the attention of companies looking for trusted Drupal service providers.
  • Promoting your services: The sponsored stand gives us the opportunity to present our Drupal services, products and solutions to a captive audience. We can conduct live presentations and discussions to capture the attention of attendees. The return on investment from sponsoring DrupalCon is undeniable. In addition to increasing your visibility, it can generate substantial growth in your business opportunities.
  • Access to information and innovation: DrupalCon is the place where the latest trends, updates and innovations in the Drupal ecosystem are unveiled. By taking part, Sully is giving itself the means to stay at the cutting edge of technology and adapt quickly to changes in the CMS.

DrupalCon has a rich programme, with around 100 sessions, 4 round tables and 5 workshops. Our team was on hand throughout DrupalCon to chat with you!

In summary, our participation and commitment as IT services partners at DrupalCon allows us to consolidate our visibility, expand our professional network, build a solid reputation as Drupal experts, effectively promote our services and remain at the forefront of the latest technological advances. There's no doubt that this will have a considerable impact on our company's success within the Drupal ecosystem and beyond.

A look back at the 2023 European edition

Our Drupal division was present and looks back on this annual conference for Drupal enthusiasts:

What is DrupalCon?

DrupalCon is an annual event, with a US iteration and a European iteration, and this year we were lucky enough to see the European edition take place in Lille.
As web developer Sébastien explains, "the last one in France was in Paris in 2009, so we were really looking forward to it!". Annual conference for Drupal enthusiasts. People from all over the world come together to share their knowledge, learn new things and meet other people interested in Drupal. It's an event where developers, designers and users can take part in training sessions, discussions and networking activities.
This allows everyone to find out more about the latest advances in Drupal and to collaborate with other professionals to strengthen this growing community.

Who attended this key Drupal event?

Our partner Inès WALLON and the entire Sully Drupal team were present:

  • Jérémy BABIN, cross-functional technical lead
  • Jean BENTAYOU, Symfony/Drupal developer
  • Joachim DESARMENIEN, department manager
  • Thibaud HIRSCHINGER, front-end integrator
  • Stéphane JAULIN, developer and site builder
  • Bastien KOPKA, Drupal developer
  • Sébastien LEFEBVRE, Drupal developer
  • As well as Frédéric CHAUVIN, Agency Manager, responsible for the Bordeaux Service Centre, and responsible for Sully's Drupal offering.

What did you hope to achieve by taking part in DrupalCon?

Our participation in DrupalCon Lille 2023 was guided by several ambitious objectives:

  • Integration into the heart of Drupal: we had a deep desire to dive into the heart of the Drupal ecosystem. Our aim was to understand how it works. As new players, we wanted to solidify our position in this Drupal universe by making ourselves known, in addition to the word-of-mouth already conveyed by our customers.
  • Establishing Strategic Connections: we sought to establish significant relationships with key players such as Platform.sh, Koriolis and Dropsolid, while exploring potential new partnerships with EvolvingWeb, Skilld, Chipway, WebstanZ and also discovering new horizons with Droptica, Amazee, Annertech and miniOrange. Of course, we also had the opportunity to meet key members of the Drupal community, including DrupalFrance.
  • Creating a Human Adventure: our participation in DrupalCon was also an exciting human adventure. We formed a dedicated team of Drupal professionals from various parts of France, from Lille to Clermont-Ferrand and Bordeaux. This experience has strengthened our ties and enriched our collaboration.
  • Understanding the Community Rules: we took the time to understand the rules and values of this open community. This enabled us to confirm and validate our belief in the promising future of Drupal and our own adventure at Sully.
  • Continuous and versatile learning: finally, we took this opportunity to broaden our horizons. We learned new technical skills, explored commercial aspects and discovered innovative recruitment strategies. This diversity of learning has enriched us both professionally and personally.
Do you have a significant event or highlight that has left its mark on you?
  • The Driesnote (Drupal keynote presented by the original developer, Dries Buytaert) was really interesting, from Sébastien's point of view.
  • Frédéric identified several highlights that punctuated DrupalCon:
    • Meeting Eduardo, our Peruvian friend, was one of the most memorable encounters of this DrupalCon. We met him during the Final Warm Up Tour organised by DrupalFrance, the day before the event began. Exceptionally kind and incredibly approachable, Eduardo gave us a warm and friendly welcome. He had come all the way from Peru to give a talk at DrupalCon.
    • That evening, I would never have imagined that this humble and benevolent man was actually Eduardo Telaya, the CEO of Heydru! a company committed to the world of Drupal. He has put his heart and soul into helping the Drupal community and the Peruvian people in a way that has deeply impressed me.

If you'd like to follow his example and immerse yourself in the world of Drupal, I encourage you to check out the link he generously shares https://www.devywork.com/book. It's a 746-page book of exceptional quality, entirely free of charge. This book offers a valuable opportunity for the general public to discover the world of Drupal. Feel free to share it without moderation, just like the spirit of generosity that characterises the Drupal community.

A final word?

Our next Drupal event is the DrupalCamp in Rennes in March 2024.
We're also looking forward to the next DrupalCon in Barcelona!
